Why do some fundamentalist Christians call themselves Lutheran, even though Luther was not a fundamentalist?

Well because fundamentalism has shifted from Catholics in Luther's time to Calvinist's and since Lutheran churches don't deny attending service to those who's ideology deviates from mainstream Lutheran ideals it is possible not all Lutherans are that way though I'm sure you know that some people just don't like to understand there theology I guess.
