Proximity of snow samples to trees and the effects of pH, salinity and turbidity?!?

Proximity to plants means that the snow could receive some runoff water form the plant's leaves or needles. That water would be contaminated with sap, pollen, or anything that could stick to a plant. Many plants are high in tannic acid, so runoff would alter the Ph greatly.
