Red Dead Redemption US Marshalls?

Okay, I have (still John Marston, not Jack) beaten all of the US gang hideouts in 9 hours. It says I have TWENTY FOUR to do so to unlock the US Marshall's outfit. Only I have done so under the allotted time and it will not unlock. Wtf? The second time I did it before it even got dark and I started at 5:00am, but after it says "Pike's Basin Complete" that's it. The outfit is still rendered "undiscovered". What am I doing wrong???
