Why can't D. Ortiz hit so many bombs anymore?

In the short time after he came to the Sox he improved his HR per AB ratio by 200%, an almost unheard of ratio; so why can't he hit bombs anymore? Will he heat up when he gets to face weaker pitching later in the season like he did last year?
